Ingredients

  • 2 ripe Pears peeled and cored
  • 1 vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract preferably pure vanilla bean
  • 1 cup Almond milk or other milk of choice
  • 1 to taste Honey or maple syrup optional sweetener
  • ½ cup Ice cubes for a chilled texture

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Slice the ripe pears in half and remove the cores with a knife, then peel the skins for extra smoothness.
  2. Cut each pear into smaller chunks to help them blend more easily.
  3. Slice open the vanilla bean lengthwise or measure out the vanilla extract, setting it aside.
  4. Add the pear chunks, vanilla (bean scraped or extract), almond milk, and sweetener into the blender.
  5. Drop in the ice cubes for a refreshing chill and slightly thickened texture.
  6. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and vibrant in color. Scrape down the sides if needed and blend again briefly.
  7. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more honey or syrup, then blend briefly to combine.
  8. Pour the silky smoothie into glasses, watching it settle into a thick, frothy layer on top.
  9. Optionally, garnish with a thin slice of pear or a vanilla bean pod for a decorative touch.
  10. Savor the chilled smoothie with a straw, enjoying its fragrant vanilla aroma and creamy texture.

Notes

For an extra boost of flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of lemon juice to enhance the pear’s natural sweetness and freshen the taste. Peeling the pears ensures a velvety smooth finish, and blending thoroughly creates a uniform, frothy consistency.
