Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined tails on optional
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese freshly grated recommended
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs or basil and oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste seasonings

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, minced garlic, Italian herbs, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Coat the shrimp evenly and let them sit for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. In another small bowl, combine grated Parmesan cheese with a little additional garlic or herbs if desired for extra flavor.
  4. Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each piece.
  5. Spoon or sprinkle the Parmesan mixture evenly over the top of each shrimp, pressing gently to help it adhere and form a crust.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast for about 8-10 minutes, until the shrimp are pink and opaque, and the Parmesan crust is golden and crispy.
  7. Optional: For extra crunch, broil the shrimp for an additional 1-2 minutes until bubbly and browned, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  8. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped herbs if desired, and serve immediately while crispy and aroma-filled.

Notes

Ensure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender. Adjust seasoning and Parmesan amount based on preference. Serve with lemon wedges or fresh herbs for added brightness.
